The last time I wrote to you, I had just bolted 1 route on the Caracasbaai island, near Fort Beekenburg: Unchained! The development of that area for rock climbing is the reason I'm writing now, but it will have to wait until the end. First, we have to catch up. In the summer of 2018 we did a one-week cruise in the region: Bonaire, Aruba, Panama City and Cartagena in Colombia. Such a cruise is quite passive and you are only briefly in one location; still, I thought it was a good way to see something of the region in a short time. Moreover, a cruise was on my 'bucket list'. De vorige keer dat ik een blog schreef, had ik net 1 route behaakt op het Caracasbaai eiland, vlakbij Fort Beekenburg: Unchained! De ontwikkeling van dat gebied voor het rotsklimmen vormt de aanleiding voor deze blog, maar daarover meer aan het einde. Eerst even bijpraten wat er allemaal gebeurd is sindsdien. In de zomer van 2018 hebben we een cruise van een week gedaan in de regio: Bonaire, Aruba, Panama City en Cartagena in Colombia. Zo'n cruise is vrij passief en je bent maar heel even op een locatie, maar ik vond het wel een goede manier om in korte tijd iets van de regio te zien. Bovendien stond een cruise op mijn 'bucket list'. De aanreis van huis naar de accomodatie was de kortste ooit, 20 minuten met de auto naar de haven... Begin September 2018 reisde ik voor de tweede keer naar Nederland. Dan zit een weekje klimmen in de Alpen er nog wel in qua weer. En
